CCMS Scholars Visit Gracie Mansion

This week the 7th Grade Community Service Club and the 6th and 7th Grade student Council went to Gracie Mansion. They learned about the history of Gracie Mansion intertwined into NYC's history. Gracie Mansion, which is where the Mayor lived since LaGuardia, dates back to a Dutch farm house when NYC was 'New Amsterdam'. Archbald Gracie, who the Mansion is named after was a merchant in the early 1800s and started the New York Post alongside Alexander Hamilton.
